Samantha Perelman is a 23-year-old trainee at Columbia University, working on a masters of business administration and as a summer production assistant on the set of the HBO program “Women.” Outstanding qualifications, to be sure, but more outstanding is the legal battle in which she finds herself: she is battling with her uncle for a share in an estimated $700 million inheritance.

Beyond the existing legal battle, there are other conflicts between these two families. Ronald Perelman is disallowed from entering the Cohen family’s home in Palm Beach, Florida, after an event in which Mr. Perelman supposedly crashed a bar mitzvah. On the other hand, the Perelman’s indicate what they call James Cohen’s noticeable intake, describing his 25,000-square-foot house in Alpine, NJ, that consists of 15 restrooms and 13 fireplaces, and has actually been featured in Architectural Digest.
